Survived A-kon, more or less. I seem to have come down with con crud for the first time ever, so I feel like shit. I'd post photos but I hate 95% of the serious ones and the rest are all on crack. Whoops.

Also I kept managing to do poses where I was thrusting my stomach out and look, like, totally pregnant. AWESOME. So D, whatever you think of your face in these photos at least you don't look hilariously fat.

The con was a lot of fun, but I'm kind of retarded and managed to, like, forget to wander around in the actual convention hall for most of the con and so not that many people took my photo... I don't really mind it that much, though.

That is my con report for now. I am on drugs and am going to bed.

Tomorrow I'll make a post with my somewhat shifted future cosplay plans.

Also I am never cosplaying anyone with an eyepatch ever again.

I'm not posting photos after all... in favor of actually getting some goddamn sleep. I promise to post hundreds of pictures when I return to make up for it!


Anyone who is unaware, I'm leaving for A-kon tomorrow! Yeah! Anyone who's going to be there, give me a call or send me a text so we can meet up. :D

I still feel bad about not finishing Gwen, but I am determined to have fun anyway. I don't need no stinking pain in the ass costume to enjoy myself!

I did finish Chrome, though. Except the staff. I could probably have done it but I don't feel like staying up all night.

Okay, this is a general A-kon info post for those who are going with me... that is to say if you are not coming with me this post will not interest you much!

I now have reserved rooms at both the Sheraton (where the con is) and the Westin (across on the sky bridge). Both rooms are double-bed rooms. I will be canceling one or the other after we all agree which one we want (I'm pretty sure we've all already agreed on the Westin but since I don't yet know what Meagan and Erika have to say about it I'm keeping both for now).

Prices are as follows:
Sheraton
$151 per night + 15% tax x 3 nights = $520.95 total. With five people, that'll be $104.19 per person. With three, $173.65.

Westin
$157 per night + 15% tax x 3 nights = $541.65 total. With five people, $108.33; with 3, $180.55.

I do not need the money up front (as I will only spend it... I am weak), but I will need it that Thursday at the latest... in other words, feel free to bring your share of the hotel cost with you and just give it to me at the con. If you'd rather pay me ahead of time, though, that's fine. Whatever's easiest, as long as I get it no later than that Thursday.

I guess I should also note that the hotel rooms are in my name on my credit card, but don't expect me to happily pick up any extra fees anyone incurs. Treat the hotel room nice, please.

I totally forgot to ask what parking fees were... I vote that if we're taking two cars, we divide the parking cost for both cars between all five of us, but if you guys'd rather divide the cost up based on who's in which car that's fine too. I don't know if the Westin has its own garage or whatever.

Check-in time for both hotels is 3:00 PM but I expect Ali and I will get there before that (so we may have to sit around a bit).

I did confirm that the sky bridge is open 24 hours, but after 10PM you need a room key to get into the Westin (I have no idea how many keys we'll be able to get, so keep this in mind).

As far as I know, it'll be Ali and I driving up together and D with Meagan and Erika. Ali and I intend to leave at 9:00 AM Thursday morning, which should get us there between 2:00 and 3:00 depending (I drive like a psychopath but if there's traffic...).

Cosplay plans (as to when I'll be wearing what) are up in the air for me, so whatever there. If any of you guys know when for sure you'll be wearing what let me know?

Thursday night Ali and I will be going to the Spaghetti Warehouse for dinner, so anyone who wants to come with us is welcome. Not entirely sure what time we'll be going but I expect it will be early rather than late. Friday night we will probably order a pizza, and Saturday night we'll be lucky if we eat at all. XD

Breakfast-wise, Ali usually ends up supplying cereal and milk because she's awesome like that, but if you want any particular kind of cereal (or anything else) bring it yourself.

No idea what time we're heading back on Sunday.

I warn you guys again that my tutu/wings will be taking up some large area of the room and if anyone touches them I'll kill them. :D After Saturday night I'll probably stow it in the car... Actually depending on where we park, there's a slim chance I might just leave it in the car anyway, but I don't want my fun foam parts getting warped from car trunk heat so this is unlikely.

Okay guys (or D and Ali anyway) I finally reserved the damn room for A-kon.

It's for three nights, since Thursday arrival > Friday arrival. $520.95 is the total with tax. So far we've only got three of us staying in said room, but, uh, as far as I'm concerned more are certainly welcome.

Of course I got us a quad, two queen beds. If it ends up just the three of us, I vote Ali gets a bed to herself.

Obviously we'll figure out exactly what's going down when we get closer to the actual con, but as it is now it's looking like we're going to probably end up with two cars... If Ali has Thursday classes and can't arrive until Friday, this is less of a problem because we'll have to take two cars then anyway and we can just divide up the luggage in whatever way makes the most sense. If we're all going up together, we'll have to figure out what will work best. There is a slim possibility that I could beg Dad to lend me his car, which is fairly roomy, and we can see if we can fit everything in there. The main problem pieces will of course be Ali's wig/hood monstrosity and my battle tutu...

But, like I said, we'll figure this out closer to the con. I'm just saying so we all know to be thinking about it, though. XD With three people pondering the issue and over four months to think about it, I'm sure we can come up with something.
